Angus Young is one of my favorite guitar players of all time. But, ugh, I threw up in my mouth a little when I read this story. Here’s what Brian Johnson said:

“Maybe I’m just being old-fashioned, but this iTunes, God bless ‘em, it’s going to kill music if they’re not careful.”

No, Brian, you’re not being old-fashioned. You’re being stupid. Why would you limit your market share like that? Seriously, Black Ice is only going to be sold in Wal-Mart? Has AC/DC gone completely mental?! Wal-Mart?!?!?!

Here’s the straight poop: music can be digitized, and you can’t stuff that toothpaste back in the tube. You need to adapt your business model to survive.

Update: Oct. 19, 2008

I had a chance to hear a couple of these new tunes. I love Angus. Hey, l mean, I’d buy any AC/DC album, but I think this reviewer kind of has a point, okay?
