Just in case you believed that Peter Frampton was the first to use a talk box:
Foreverrrrrrrrrr. Wow. Nice jacket, announcer dude.
Anyway, the band looks like a bunch of people I’d like to party with. What is with those creepy black-shirt-wearing background singers? They’re incredibly lifelike but not quite there. Wouldn’t you agree?
I find it hard to believe that anyone would think that Peter was the first to use the talk box.
He saw Pete Drake using one on his Pedal Steel guitar in 1970 (All Things Must Pass). He heard Stevie Wonder using a version of the talk box (more of a talk bag) on the keyboard in 1972 (Music Of My Mined). Bob Heil gave Peter a talk box in 1973.
Also, I’m pretty sure Joe Walsh was using one before Frampton. The thing is, everyone has heard of Peter Frampton, but (unfortunately) hardly anyone knows Pete Drake or Bob Heil by comparison!
