3D Guitar Lessons From Your Web Browser
It seems that high-tech guitar-lesson technology has taken a jump forward. iPerform is a company who uses motion-capture technology to record the exact movements of guitar professionals to produce 3D guitar lessons that let students zoom and rotate around their virtual teacher, slow things down without affecting pitch, and play licks again and again. And all this without aggravating (or violating the personal space of) a tired, underpaid real teacher.
It works in your browser with 2 plug-ins, Adobe Flash, and Unity3D. Seems straightforward enough, tech-wise.
There are a bunch of different membership options, ranging from $29.95 to $139.95. Here’s a YouTube marketing video:
The best you can do is a real flesh-and-blood guitar teacher, but I suppose if you’re a die-hard self-starter (or maybe a little agoraphobic), this could work for you.
