Guitarist Wounded on the Battlefield of Rock
I don’t normally post about local goings-on, but I when I read about one of our fallen brethren-in-rock, I decided I had to say something.
Don’t let anyone fool you. Being a soldier of rock out there in the trenches is no laughing matter. It’s hard work. Just ask 39-year-old Brennan Bayliss, who is partially paralyzed in all four limbs and no longer able to play his guitar after being pulled offstage at a show. His community is holding a spaghetti dinner to help raise cash for him and his family to pay some bills.
If you know someone in the Jackson, Michigan area, tell ‘em to stop by Ted’s Firehouse Pub at 809 Greenwood Ave tomorrow (Saturday, March 21, 2009) between 3 and 9 PM and pick up a plate of pasta for the guy. It’s the least we can do.
